As we head into our 137th year here at Morris, we are so honored and proud to have been your choice for fine jewelry, custom design and repairs since 1881. As you can imagine, a building with this kind of history, a true step back in time, preserved down to the tin ceilings, wood floors and our original safes, needs some tender loving care to stay in tip top shape.
Of the improvements we have planned, some are general maintenance such as paint on our walls, ceilings and some trim, one improvement, in particular was something that we struggled with. You see our floors have needed a makeover for some time but the history that they held was dear to us. I'm pretty sure they were even covered with carpet for a short time. While they are still beautiful, hold the history and the memories of every person that has visited with us, they have seen better days. In making the decision to refinish them, we thought of the special moments that have been shared with us on these very floors. The engagement ring purchases that hold a promise of love and commitment, the engagements that have happened in this very store. The knees that have touched that wood and the words spoken. The most beautiful holiday wedding that we were honored to host. The wedding bands that were purchased here many years ago that come back to visit to get their own TLC. The many joyous occasions that we've helped celebrate. They were there to bear the weight as we've lept in celebration and on occasion, these floors have caught the tears as we've wept.
It only seems fitting that with all of the beauty that they've seen, that we make them beautiful, once again, for generations to come.
Man, if these floors could talk. The stories they could tell. Feel free to share your special Morris stories with us! We'd love to hear them! Email them to email@example.com.
So, please, bear with us as we work tirelessly to get through repairs, remodeling, paint and upkeep on this much loved space.
We plan to reopen on January 9th, as scheduled. Our phones will be down for a few days so if you have an emergency, please message us through Facebook, the website or call 615-556-9588 and one of us will get back with you as quickly as possible.
Thank you for 137 years, we look forward to celebrating many more special moments with your families!
